VASI METAFISICI

Vasi Metafisici (Metaphysical vases) evoke an art made of fantastic suggestions, of elements juxtaposed in a seemingly irrational way. With these objects the artist wants to narrate what is "beyond the physical appearance of reality." Each character interacts with the vase like a castaway on a desert island. "The little man who embodies a specific state of mind," the artist says, "finds himself as if in a limbo, a purgatory, waiting for a turning point that may never come." In these works, as in several of his production, there is a reflection on the concept of self-portrait, which here embodies the uncertainties, illusions and hopes of a young artist. With his works Monaldi reworks elements and situations related to everyday life at- traversing the filter of his personal experiences, giving life to a staging, almost theatrical, of small existential stories that develop around a common object, such as a vase that, observed from a different point of view, takes on a new and unexpected meaning.
